At FLOSC, we provide Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care for children from Prep to Year 6. Our service is licensed for 200 children per session, and we can accommodate high school students if needed. The Centre operates 50 weeks per year, closing only on weekends, public holidays, and for two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period.
The Forest Lake Outside School Care service is managed by the Forest Lake State School Parents and Citizens Association.
If you require Outside School Hours Care, please contact us as soon as possible to secure a place. If no placements are available, families will be placed on a waiting list and notified when a spot opens up.
Please note: As of February 2025, the service is at full capacity with no available placements. We encourage families to add their name to our waitlist, and we will reach out when a space becomes available.
Enrolment Information
First-time families must complete an enrolment form to provide contact details and Centrelink information for their children.
Enrolment Fee
$130.00 (one-time fee per family, not per child)
(Applies to families using Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care)
This includes:
- $30.00 non-refundable administration fee
- $100.00 bond (refundable upon completion of enrolment, provided:
- Two weeks' written notice is given
- All account payments are finalized
- If attending Vacation Care for only one holiday period, the bond will be refunded at the end of that period, assuming all fees are paid)
- The enrolment fee must be fully paid before enrolment can begin.
- Families using FLOSC on a casual basis (casual bookings are only available for shift or on-call workers— all other bookings are permanent) must also pay the enrolment fee.
- The Childcare Subsidy (CCS) does not cover the enrolment fee.
Before School Care
- Operating hours: 6:30 AM – 8:45 AM (Monday to Friday, during school terms)
- Breakfast provided: Toast, cereal, plus a weekly special (see menu for details)
- Fees (from 2025): $18.50 per child, per session
After School Care
- Operating hours: 2:45 PM – 6:00 PM (Monday to Friday, during school terms)
- Accredited by Nutrition Australia – we provide a nutritious afternoon tea daily.
- Fees (from 2025): $28.00 per child, per session
Vacation Care
- Operating hours: 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM (during Forest Lake State School holidays)
- Bookings open 3–4 weeks before the end of each school term and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
- No waiting list, except when excursions reach full capacity.
- Vacation Care requires separate bookings from Before and After School Care—families must book for each holiday period.
- Accounts must be fully paid (nil balance) before bookings are accepted.
- Vacation Care fees must be finalized by the end of each holiday period.
Important Information:
- Newly enrolled children cannot attend excursions during their first Vacation Care period.
- Families should only book the days they need to ensure availability for full-time working families.
- Excursion, incursion, and bus costs are not included in the daily fee.
