Prep

Prep is the compulsory first year of schooling for children in Queensland. 

It is a full time program with children attending Monday to Friday from 8:45am to 2:45pm. 

Children must be 5 years of age by 30 June in the year they begin Prep. 

To enrol for Prep in 2022 children must be born between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017.

Use the Prep Ready Reckoner calculator to determine when your child can commence their Prep year.

FLSS School Enrolment Management Plan

Forest Lake State School has a School Enrolment Management Plan.

Please use this School Catchment Tool to see if you live inside our school catchment zone.

We are only able to accept students who live inside this catchment zone.

You will be required to bring proof of address when you enrol your child at Forest Lake State School. 

Prep Enrolment Process

1:  Collect and complete enrolment paperwork

You can collect enrolment paperwork from the school administration. 

Any enquiries can be sent to the enrolment officer, Deb Dunn on ddunn12@eq.edu.au. 

Completed forms must be returned in person with the child's birth certificate for sighting.

2:  Enrolment Meet & Greet

Prep Enrolment Meet & Greet will be held on Wednesday afternoons during Term 3 & Term 4 in our prep classrooms. 

During the afternoon you will have the opportunity to spend some time in a prep classroom with your child and meet with a member of the leadership team and/or prep team.   

The enrolment officer will contact you to schedule a meeting time. 

All enrolment forms must be returned prior to the Enrolment Meet & Greet.
